For countries with strict sanitary protocols — such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, or South Africa — we recommend starting the process 4 to 6 months in advance. This timeframe is essential to comply with vaccination deadlines, blood titer tests (rabies antibody testing), and legally required quarantines.
However, for destinations with more flexible regulations, Pet Trips is known for its agility. For Brazil, for instance, if the documentation is already in order, we can complete the boarding process in as little as 7 days.
Regardless of the destination, our advice is: contact us as soon as you start planning. We will analyze your pet's history to define the fastest and safest route.
Documentation varies by country, but generally includes an EU Pet Passport (or equivalent), updated vaccination records, microchip implantation, and an International Health Certificate (IHC/CVI). Pet Trips handles all the paperwork and bureaucracy to ensure there are no unforeseen problems, both at the origin and at the destination.
